John 17:20-24 I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word (the chain of witnesses to us goes all the way back to the apostles);
That they all may be one as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them that they may be one just as We are one;
I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory . . .
This again is more than we would ask, think, or imagine (Eph. 3:20).
This can begin now because we have a new life and have been transferred to a new kingdom – to the degree that we see Him as our greatest treasure and seek to know Him and love Him above all, to the degree that we submit to His will and ways.
He wants us to share in the relationship of the Trinity. And just remember who’s making this request and if anything is requested according to His will, that request is granted.
Now we can join our ask to His!
How much do I really expect to experience this? I’ve recently been convicted by the things I truly believe but somehow am not really expecting to experience here and now. I know it won’t be perfect now, but He taught us to pray Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth. There’s more here and now in that than I have realized or expected! And more about this in coming blogs.
