Blessing in the Valley of Weeping

Ps. 84: 5-7 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage, As they pass through the Valley of Baca (weeping), They make it a spring; the rain also covers it with pools (the blessings). They go from strength to strength.

Receiving the blessings of the Valley of Weeping is the key to going from strength to strength (increasing in victorious power). The source for strength is unending because God is infinite.

When I have a need that’s screaming to be met or am in a trial that I cannot endure for another minute, I need to remember it’s for this life only. The choices I make in it have eternal consequences and significance. I need to make them based on faith not lies, knowledge not feelings.

Stand firm. You will see deliverance. Wait and you will receive power. There is redemptive value in our suffering for others and for ourselves. (Phil. 1:7)

Vs 11 – . . . The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (2 Cor. 4:17; Gal. 6:9)

It may appear that we are waiting for appointments, test results, availability of things or people, but we are ultimately waiting on God and His timing and His ways are perfect. I’m not the best waiter and it helps me to remember that, especially when fear is trying to use the delays or unexpected happenings to enter and control my mind.

Here are a couple verses that have stood out in these times. God is so faithful to have these stand out to us just when we need them.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD! Deut. 31:24

Take courage! It is I, Don’t be afraid. Matt. 14:27

We may not immediately recognize Him, and we may be filled with fear because of what we’re seeing – but He’s walking to us on the water.

We may be in a place where we have reason to feel pain, sorrow, fear. But we also have reasons for hope, faith, courage and praise so that we are not controlled by our fear or pain. There are blessings in the Valley of Weeping that cause us to go from strength to strength.
